Whether you are a die-hard football fan or coldly indifferent (we have it both ways within our team of Unicorns!) you have to admit, the camaraderie that radiates from an international sport event can really unite people.
And this year we’ve spied some micro marketing campaigns that we’ve seriously lol’d at. We love a bit of responsive creative marketing, and the teams behind these gems deserve our applause. So here it goes, our top 6 funniest marketing campaigns around World Cup themes are…
6. ALDI boycott Argentinian wine.
Alas it wasn’t to be… but we appreciate the sentiment from ALDI

5. Sainsbury’s match commentary.
Sainsbury’s have been busy pairing their puns with their food, clever!

4. Uber tissue truck.
Offering a decent discount on your ride home if your team loses.

3. the British Airways – Norwegian Air bet
Norwegian Air proposed a bet with British Airways ahead of the quarter final match between the two. And true to their word, Norwegian Air changed their logo to the British Airways logo for a day on Instagram after losing 2-1 to England.

2. the Levis cover-up.

Doubling-down with the Instagram logo – we approve!
1. IRN-BRU’s Scottish anthem.
What can we say… In classic IRN-BRU style they went too far and exactly far enough at the same time. Good on ye, laddies and lassies!
